We had a sunny stewardship workshop last week in PS 38’s lush garden and schoolyard. We heard from the school’s parent coordinator on how to involve the whole community in stewardship, we moved our bodies with The Movement Creative to remind ourselves how to play, and brainstormed ideas for our schoolyard mini-grant. I also demo’d some lessons and activities from our Lenapehoking Climate Curriculum using PS 38’s beautiful garden.

We also welcomed a new partner, PeacePlayers to break the ice and teach us about basketball and leadership.

The $1500 mini-grant application deadline has been extended to June 13th and we encourage you to apply with the fast-approaching summer season in mind! How can you use the grant to invite your school community, neighbors, and PTA to steward your green spaces and program the yard through the summer?
Reminder that the mini-grant is only available to TPL community schoolyards in NYC and is a reimbursement based grant.
