We’re excited to offer a mini-grant opportunity for TPL schoolyard sites only to support programs, events, and projects that bring your schoolyard to life.

Application Deadline: May 4, 2026

Please note before applying:

• This is a reimbursement-based grant (not upfront funding). We can only reimburse schools, CBOs, or PTAs. 
• If your project/event takes place before June 30, purchases must be made and receipts submitted by June 30.
• If your event is in July or later, please wait until after July 1 to make purchases.

 

What kinds of projects can this support?
Past mini-grants have funded:

• Community events like movie nights, seasonal festivals, and family nights in the schooyard
• Sports tournaments, field days, and fitness events
• Garden programs, outdoor learning materials, planting days, and stewardship activities
• Arts, music, poetry, and storytelling programs
• STEM events, literacy days, and educational workshops
• Partnerships with organizations like Audubon NYC, PlayNYC, or The Movement Creative. 

This grant can only be awarded at TPL NYC Community Schoolyard sites.
