Seed Saving Workshop – Oct 10th and 11th

Free Seed Saving Workshop hosted by The Battery Urban Farm (but be sure to register on Eventbrite)

Learn to save and store seeds from the vegetable and flower plants in your schoolyard’s garden through hands-on practice at The Battery Urban Farm. This workshop will cover the various approaches to saving seed from different plant families.

The Seed Saving workshop will help you to:

  • Choose the appropriate seed saving approach for different plant families
  • Manage your crops (or raised beds) during the season to yield the best seed
  • Dry and store seeds effectively
  • Take home seeds to plant!

Location: Meet at the entrance to The Battery Urban Farm, marked on this map. Please note that Maps applications often misplace the farm entrance, so you should use these coordinates to help bring you to the meeting spot. Please also note that the northern side of the park is currently under construction, so you will need to enter the park along State Street (the map linked above outlines areas blocked off by construction).

What to bring: Please note that this is an outdoor workshop on a farm site. Wear closed-toe shoes and any layers and sun protection you will need to be comfortable outside for the event.
