The City Gardens Club of New York City is continuing its Summer 2026 Scholarship Program—and applications are now open!
This scholarship covers the full cost of a P-credit course, giving NYC public school educators a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of plants, ecology, and hands-on learning.

What Did a Plant Ever Do for You?
Educators will explore plant science through immersive, inquiry-based experiences—learning how plants function, interact with ecosystems, and support life. Participants gain ready-to-use classroom strategies, curriculum materials, and hands-on resources.
This program directly supports educators working in school garden spaces by:
- Strengthening plant science knowledge for garden-based instruction
- Providing experiential learning techniques ideal for outdoor classrooms
- Equipping teachers with materials and activities that can be implemented in TPL gardens
- Deepening student connections to sustainability, food systems, and environmental stewardship
